Wink Text scaling in Mtext Editor

If the text is too small or too large in the MText Editor you can zoom in or out by holding down the Ctrl key and scrolling the wheel on your mouse. Scroll forward for larger text and back for smaller text.

I though most people knew about this, but most people that I tell about it are shocked. Please forgive me if this has been posted before.

Its a great feature but not necessarily a cad feature. You can do the same thing in internet explorer. Just depends on what your mouse settings are......you can change the font scale on pages that do not have a default font size specified.

Only problem is, it still doesn't fix the "bad size" problem with the MTEXT editor.

When the MTEXT editor comes up in one of its "funky" text sizes, for example, the text is so huge that only 10 letters will fit on the entire screen, you can make the text size smaller like this. But the MTEXT window itself stays the same width, so it starts cramming more letters on each line. Net result is you can get the text small enough to see, but it might all be on one line.

Only way around this I've found is to exit the MTEXT editor, zoom the screen (using the mouse scroll-wheel), and then try to edit the text again. Generally, within about five tries, I get a decent text size in the MTEXT editor.

This "feature" of the MTEXT editor is incredibly annoying.

This has been eliminated in 2006.

Also, check out the mtextfixed variable in pre-2006 autocad. It might help
