Default Session 6, Part A/B: BIM for Wood Structures

    Instructors: Thomas Weir, Thornton Tomasetti

Class Description: For many parts of the world steel and concrete are the only materials used in commercial building construction. But in many parts of Europe and North America wood is also a mainstay of modern design. Modeling wood structures in Revit requires some different tools than you might be used to using if you only have modeled steel and concrete. Different techniques and approaches are required in order to successfully complete your construction documents. When you model wood structures you must contend with the multitude of pieces that must be modeled, or not, depending upon your approach during design development. It can get quite complicated trying to control all the elements that are required to be shown and documented.
