Default pc3 vs windows system printer

I have a user that keep tweaking his windows system adobe windows printer. Does the system printer override company pc3 settings?

I'm not sure, as I've never had a user blatantly make changes they were asked/directed not to... What do the resultant PDF file(s) look like as compared to your printing same sheet (with unmodified print driver)?

Separately, I would strongly suggest that you consider using AutoCAD's built-in DWG to PDF print driver in lieu of Adobe's... It yields smaller PDF output (at same resolution), works better with native layers, transparency, etc., and precludes a Windows accessible driver thereby resolving your issue altogether in the process.

    ... My $0.02

I believe it's the other way around --- the pc3 settings should superseded the system printer settings. I've set up PC3 that drastically modify the default system printer settings on my hardware devices.

And I do tend to agree with BB as far as using the Dwg2Pdf plotter from adesk instead of adobe's offering. Why spend the extra money to get an inferior pdf maker??

Another vote for the DWG to PDF.pc3 that comes with AutoCAD

**unless** you are using 2007, 2008, or 2009.
Prior to 2010, the PDF driver supplied by Autodesk did a poor job and resulted in huge files.

FWIW, 2009 SP3 is the first time DWG to PDF was truly functional.

We tried using that which was included with SP1/SP2, and those reflect your comments, but SP3 updated it 'enough' that it finally became viable for our daily production, and we actually preferred it over 3rd party PDF drivers.
