Default AB318-4L: From Fabulous to Fabrication: Real-World Digital Fabrication and BIM

Instructors: Jeffrey McGrew with Nauman Mysorewala and Jillian Northrup and Dat Lien

Class Description: Once the realm of the "starchitects" and academics, directly fabricating parts of your project via computer-controlled tools is now an affordable reality. Learn how to turn those fancy BIM models into real usable building parts in this hands-on lab. We'll dive into fabrication-level Family modeling within Autodesk® Revit®. We'll talk about exporting to CAM tools and Inventor®. We'll cover issues and problems to watch out for. We'll review some easy-to-use online resources for getting things fabricated. At the end of the class, we'll even directly produce (on the spot via automated tools) the Family you just modeled in Revit. Which you'll then get to take home!
