Default AB204-6: Flagship BIM Case Study: Designing and Building the New CENTCOM HQ

Instructor: Patrick Suermann with Steve Cline

Class Description: This session will discuss the new premiere building for the Department of Defense's most dynamic Command—Central Command. This LEED-Silver facility will be the first of its kind on MacDill AFB and will house General Petraeus and his enormous staff. Building on design efficiencies gleaned from the facilty's fraternal twin, the JICCENT HQ, this building offers a myriad of lessons learned when moving to a BIM-based approach for a design-bid-build project with multiple stakeholders (e.g. AE: Burns & McDonnell, CM: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Owner: CENTCOM, Location: MacDill AFB).
