Default DV114-1: Appropriate Daylight Metrics: Using Autodesk 3ds Max to Measure Real Daylight Performance

    Instructor: MIchael Donn

Class Description: Autodesk 3ds Max Design has the ability to simulate daylight in a manner that is sufficiently accurate to be used to gain LEED® daylight points. However, it is capable of far more sophisticated sustainable building performance analysis. This class will focus on measurements of performance ("metrics") that are state-of-the-art in daylight analysis today. It will explore how 3ds Max can be used beyond the standard quantitative daylight measures such as illuminance on "typical" days and hours, delving into the realm of light quality and daylight autonomy (the amount of time that you can expect to reach a certain light level through the use of just daylight).
