Default ED122-1: Teaching BIM: Best Practices for Integrating BIM Into Architectural Curriculum

    Instructor: Nancy Brown

Class Description: The benefits of using BIM in professional practice are largely understood; however integrating BIM in academia is divergent from practice. The best practices for the delivery of BIM in an architectural curriculum are a part of the current discourse in many programs. Should BIM be taught in technology courses where the tool and its skills are developed, or should BIM be integrated into a studio environment where design methods and processes de-emphasize functionality? Intend to be part of this lively discussion as common teaching methods are presented and critiqued (by the instructor and you) with the intent of improving the pedagogy of BIM in educational environments.
