Default GS208-1: Managing Highway Assets With Autodesk Topobase

    Instructor: Barry Hall

Class Description: Using a real world example of the management of drainage assets on the UK motorways, this class will provide an illustration of how a business can build upon existing experience with AutoCAD® Map 3D and Autodesk MapGuide® to leverage the power of Autodesk Topobase for asset management. Learn how to create a Topobase schema using Topobase Administrator, and see how existing asset records can be migrated to this new schema using FME for Oracle®. Understand how Topobase manages asset identification and learn how this can be managed when moving data from a staging database to a live database. Explore how data can be made available through the configuration of Topobase data forms, and how standard queries and plot layouts can be created to save time when managing your assets. Understand why data connectivity is important, and how to use network tracing to provide valuable information in a timely fashion. See how Topobase Web provides valuable online data management capability and how MapGuide works alongside to provide the masses with visualization of your assets.
