Default SE118-2: Using Autodesk Revit Structure for Engineering Managers

    Instructor: David Odeh

Class Description: Join us for an overview of managing projects for structural engineers using Revit Structure. We will explore a number of key issues of interest to managers, including how to write proposals and contracts that capture the costs and benefits of using BIM on a project; budget and proportion modeling work efforts for each project phase; leverage worksharing to maximize team productivity; and establish a quality assurance plan for reviewing Revit Structure Models.  We will also discuss how to manage external analysis and design optimization software links with Revit Structure; manage coordination efforts with architects and other consultants; and leverage design models during construction to improve construction administration. Finally, we will explore example projects of different size and complexity to illustrate effective management approaches.
