How on earth would that even be possible????? The 'key' that the OS uses to identify a file is the name and path. so expecting SSM to be able to understand changes that happen outside of it is rather like expecting my clothes dryer to tell me the turkey is ready to come out of the oven.

I think someone's workflow needs to change instead of implementing this wish list. AutoCAD already has a function to rename files referenced in a sheet set.

Are you renaming several files with a standardized system?
If so, I have a tool that reloads the xrefs in all files in a directory based on a an excel spreadsheet translation.
Would that work for you?
