Join table/queries to map features from shp

Hey,

I have connected an Access database to my project and joined a table to features from a shapefile. No problem there.
When joining a table there is a dropdownbox with all the tables you can choose from. The dropdownbox also shows all queries in the connected database. Although i can select those aswell they do not properly join. An error message indicates you need a primary key to make the join. As far as i know it isn't possible to add a primary key to a query.
I would like to use these queries to make a join because that way i can prepare and predefine joins in the database.
Another reason is because the key in the primary table matches a combination of columns in the database table. That is easily combined in a query.
I don't think that was the best choice for a primary key but the database has some history.

Is there a way to use queries from the database to make a join?
