Default Toggle to switch view template on-off

Summary: Allow editing of views with view templates applied.

Description: As per temporary hide/isolate we should be able to temporarily switch a view template on-off to allow editing of elements/categories hidden in the template.
When the template is off the view could be bound in the blue boundary as per the temporary hide/isolate view and automatically turn on once the project is closed.

Why not just create another view template and call it 'Everything On' and apply that when you want to edit. Then you can reapply the appropriate template when done.
My personal preference is to create working views where you do all your model edits rather than working in the view that has 'plot' settings applied. That way there is no chance of forgetting to reapply the final template.

Workarounds are ok and I do remove the template while working on the view. The issue is time. It's pretty inefficient to enter the template dialogue and select none every time I need to review a category that's switched off in the template.

Sure, we can continue to use the program as it stands, but I hope that Autodesk listens to the end-user for improvements on its current tools. It seems that the factory is happy to provide new tools like site designer and sketchy lines but what about improving the tools that already exist? It's the simplest, smallest improvements that make a big impact on our time in front of the screen.

The thing is one users version of 'default' settings may be completely different than another's version so what settings would be the default?
Time wise, I don't see much difference in selecting the view template from the dialogue vs invoking a very specific command. Keyboard shortcut to View Template, the template named with two asterisks at the start and that template will always be at the top of the list.
Not really a workaround just a way to get the task done. 🍺

    Lauren,
I didn't read your post too carefully. There is a setting that allows you to temporarily override the template settings. It will revert to the applied view template when plotting or closing the file. Look in the help file under Temporary View Template.
