Default Siding Doesn't "Count" as the Exterior Finish Face?

So I have a question about a very basic Revit function. I have an exterior wall type that includes a horizontal wood trim sweep, with two different finishes (one above the sweep and one below).

When I draw these walls using the "Exterior Finish Face" location line, Revit does not use the outside of the siding (exterior finish face) to draw. If I draw a 6'-0" long wall, it ends up being 6'-0" plus the thicknesses of the siding both sides.

Why is this? I've attached two images to hopefully clarify.

    Thanks,
    Miles
