Irregular shaped Site?

Good day everyone,
Could anyone please help me how to use the toposurface feature for the site which is irregular inshape when i add the points for the toposurface it takes the topo outside the original bounday.Is it okay if i make the site part by part. so that i get the exact shape of the site. or else what is the other method where i can get the site in proper shape.
The similar thing goes to contours also.
Can anyone help me .

Build the site, don't worry about the parts that go outside. After building it, use the Split Topo tool, divide it along the boundary, then delete the extra piece.
