Description: I wish there was a tool whereby you could quickly draw grid lines for floor plans and site layouts by indicating to opposite diagonal corners. Additional features would include the following:
1) Once the overall grid is laid out by holding say [ Shift ] you could then click on an individual grid line within the grid and move it relative to the previous or next grid line either moving manually to arbitrary position with the mouse or inputting a specific value. The value of the grid-line will be determined accordingly based on statement (2) (see below)
1.2) Ability to add grid line in between to existing grid lines without adjusting the grid. ie a grid spaced 1000m apart could have a grid line inserted at 1234m between 1000m and 2000m
2)No matter where this is drawn on paper space you could then input what the grid-line value is. This does not move it to that value it it only the value of that grid-line ie
default is 1 to 10 but Architects may relabel this to A,B, C, and site layouts could relabel this to 1000m, 1500m, 2000m... By Relabeling 1 or 2 of the grid-lines it would automatically relabel the rest.
2.1) Once values are determined by holding [ Ctrl ] and clicking on a single grid line it would indicate it's value. Perhaps [ Alt ] and click on this grid-line / having a little tick box on the value after pressing [ Ctrl ] , you could select an option to show the value permanently and move this around if you need the value in a certain place along that grid-line. This could be repeated if you need multiple values showing along the same grid line
2.2) Option to place text above/centered/below grid line and to have a box around it. Plus determine Font and Size of text and spacing of value and grid-line like you can with dimensions
2.3) Automatic Wipe out feature included whereby a text value would hide other objects it covers
3) Input spacing between the grid-lines. The grid tool would then either add or subtract grid-lines accordingly.
4) Ability to add heads to the grid-line as like "Revit". head--](A)-- - -- - -- - -- -
5) able to rotate and align the grid if required at an arbitrary angle
