    Default Hatch Patterns

how do I get a custom hatch pattern to show up in the hatch dialog box. I have put the pattern in the directory that autocad help says to do, still no pattern in the dialog box. autocad was much simpler pre windows day.

When you say "no pattern in the dialog box", where are you looking? If they are in the support file search path, and the PAT file is valid, meaning no syntax errors, then they will show up here:

generally that's a more useful way to handle custom hatch patterns. Each hatch is in its own file

This method also makes it more efficient when loading them on-demand, as opposed to loading an entire 'library' of patterns contained within a single file. Lee has a 'steal' routine, which can be quite useful as well.

I have figured it out. come to find out that the hatch pattern I downloaded has an error in it. we need wood hatch patterns for doing sections for platforms that HVAC units sit on in our details
