Question Vertical Line on Horizontal Lap Siding

I can't figure out how to get rid of this vertical line that is showing up. I'm using Accurender Horizontal,_8". I've tried changing the X: nominal & offset tile sizing and changing to Horizontal,_6". It makes no difference, The line shows in the same location when I change the settings and the front rendering has the same issue. Best I can tell the line planes through from the rear rendering to the front rendering. It does not show when I use untiled material.

This has been in Revit since the early days. Good news though, when you increase the quality of the rendering it just gets better and and shows up beautifully.

Sorry for the rant, this has bugged me since v2.11.

Unhappy Re: Vertical Line on Horizontal Lap Siding

I had the same problem on a recent project. I tried everything but was unable to get rid of the line. If it is a bug it is a very unusaul one.

Is it possible that the image for the stripes is not perfect? and have you tried stretching the bitmap file to have a very long horizontal direction? (just in case, you can unlock the bitmap image proportion and change the x without modifying the y)

Very unusual if this isn't the case....

Perhaps since tiled material has to have a value for X & Y, even if the value is extreamly large, it still needs a starting point. Wondering why X or Y can't be set to "0" or "off".

You should increase the x value to exceed the width of the house (hold y value). This should remove the "repeat" mark.

    Whoa,
I just hadn't added enough digits! It took an x value of 100000000.000 to get rid of it. I think however that far exceeds the width of the house considering y=.50
I think the program looked at the number and just decided to "forget about it"!

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
sorry, should have been more precise. Remember that the jpeg is placed on the render example (cube of 1", 18" 36" etc). SOMETIMES you can tell what the scale of the jpeg is running, sometimes not. If it takes a factor of 6 to get the scale of the "y" axis correct, then "x" is usually correct too. If your "y" is .5 it sounds like that would be a 6" lap siding, (assuming a unit is equal to a foot) so a factor of 100-200 should have been correct (for 200 ft - unless the house is huge ). Another thing to look at is the offset factor. Perhaps you could have used the scale factor in combination with offset (under maps - advanced) to shift the x axis by enough to move "the line" off of the house, with an x scale factor of 200 or so instead of the 10 million....

    Whatever - glad it worked.
