Default Control how far Zoom command will zoom out?

How can I control how far autocad is willing to zoom out?

I can do zoom extents to see all contents but I feel there should be a way that I can zoom out as far as I want, or adjust the distance it allows me to zoom out...

I know zoom factor controls the speed it zooms through the increments...but how can I control the increments it extends to?

I'm not sure I'm following what you think the problem is... the simplest way to control zooming out is by typing in the zoom factor, eg

    ZOOM
    0.05X

or, to go out as far as there are drawing objects, ZOOM E

Zoom 0.95XP to zoom out a little bit.
I usually select the objects I need to be able to see and Zoom Object, scrolling out with the mouse first if necessary.
Like cadtag it's hard to know how far out you want to zoom.

The old Solar System drawing would let you zoom from tight enough to read the moon landing plaque to out to the orbit of the (former) planet pluto. It's hard to think of construction drawings that call more zooming out than that.....

The reason I ask is because if you have a very complex dynamic block and zoom extent or zoom all it takes awhile to load...

The commands you voiced to me are zooming in not out...

Also when I am zooming out with the mouse wheel it stops at a certain distance I would like to stop that block from occuring

the view height and width to be exact...are zooming out to around 2500 by 3000...

around 2000' further then the zoom extents of the objects in the drawing

Zoom 0.95XP will zoom out a little bit, Zoom 0.5XP will zoom out a lot.
For what you need just do a Zoom Object on the block.

On both the Zoom flyout from the View menu and the Extents dropdown of the Navigate panel of the View tab on the Ribbon should be a zoom Out option whose macro is '_zoom .5x
For what you need just do a Zoom Object (also found same places as Zoom Out in both the menu and Ribbon) on the block is your best option though.

The Zoom #X will zoom either in or out. the number (#) is zoom factor that is used to multiply the current scale leaving the viewcenter alone. numbers less than ONE zoom out, numbers greater than ONE zoom in.

If the zoom window is exact, and repeatable, either define a VIEW than you can restore, or set up a macro that does a Zoom W (your minimum X,Y) (your maximum X,Y)
