    Default upgrade 2016 from 2015

    Hey!

I am having problems installing 2016 with 2015 loaded on my workstation. I get the "blue screen of Death" when I try to install 2016. My provider spent about 6 hour we me trying to install, when she did get it installed, non of the programs would run, only in "Review Mode". She check the hidden files and she claimed everything was present... naturally its Dells fault of Windows fault. Spent 4 hrs. with dell everything works fine, Windows worked fine, but the tech said he could fix it. 2 weeks later and a new SSD hard drive it works EXCEPT, NO 2015. Windows tech says he tried to install 2015 and then 2016 and got the same problem - blue screen of death.

Now when I open my engineers files I gen an error message “Unable to upgrade file due to corrupt file contentfamilies. To repair, open the file with the Audit option enabled in Autodesk Revit 2015 and reloadthe following families from RFA or delete the families form the Document: (There are about 36 family items listed)" I tried deleting the families and then it totally fails and makes a backup copy.

Got an ideas on how to fix this mess?

    Thanks

Do you have all 7 service packs for 2015 installed?

There might be an installation log file in your Windows temp folder. That may point to were the error lies:
    Windows Start > Run > %TEMP%
