Default ME232-1C: What Happens to My Fire Protection BIM Design When the Installing Company Gets It?

    Session: ME232-1C

Title: What Happens to My Fire Protection BIM Design When the Installing Company Gets It?

    Instructor: Alan Johnston

Course Description: The advent of Building Information Modeling (BIM) has highlighted the value of integrating fabrication of all building systems into the tool used in the design process. A fire sprinkler system requires a very specialized set of fabrication instructions tailored to the specific fabrication and installation practices of that trade. This class will provide an inside, detailed look at the typical fabrication and installation processes that sprinkler installers use, along BIM requirements to support those processes. This class is not intended to present the application of any particular product to this process, but rather to illustrate the physical processes themselves to provide a better understanding of the physical workflow, from completion of the design to completion of the installation.
