    that's sorta my point -- since that's what the OP is asking for.

    So, unless someone demonstrates a way, I'll stick with my original answer.

    Following your latter comments, I merely commented on the nature of Fields, how Object-specific references work, and not commenting on how they could be used to accomplish the OP's request.

    You can use refedit with attributes .

    Thanks for all the input everyone. Steven-g is very close. I would really like to be able to then edit the geometry of the block using refedit. When I try to edit your block I get:

    Errors found in references to other objects:
    ** Object reference missing: AcDbField, to AcDbBlockTableRecord.
    *Cancel*

    Can I ask how you did get it this far?

    clement.ribot - how can you refedit and edit geometry when the block has an attribute? Please tell!

    close too. I still, on tying to edit the block get the attribute editor opening not the block geometry in a refedit command.
