Shared Paramteres Location

Is there any way to find the location of a used shared parameter in a family? Someone in our office created a family with a certain shared parameter that gets scheduled. Now I am trying to apply this shared parameter in new families, but cannot find where the shared parameter is located. I've looked everywhere to no avail. Any ideas?

The way to handle this is not try to find the location because it probably does not exist anymore but just export that parameter from the family that has it to your company shared parameter file. This is where not having people create families and parameters is a best practice. To accomplish this, have the family opened and parameter selected. Go to "Modify Parameter". Now you will notice the "Export" button next to "Select". Once that is clicked it will add that parameter to the active shared parameter file.
