well yeah that... bad news if you didn't save before starting said print job.
I feel your pain..... I know how many times I hit cancel!
There used to be a couple settings in the PDF driver to tell it not to ask for a new file name for each sheet. I can't seem to find them anymore but its not giving me problems on my machine. I'll keep digging later and hopefully post were to find these settings.
If needed, I take the printer off line.

Ctrl-Shift-Esc to bring up task manager, go to Processes tab, right-click on your pdf printer, select "End Process". That should kill it.
usually you can hit the cancel button onthe bottom of the revit window and it will cancel the print. The cancel on the file window is just for that individual pdf.
