    RICVBA,

Before installing Windows 10, did you try to restore your system to an earlier date than this you intalled VS 2015 Comunity and try a new installation ?
By my side I have a computer (Windows 7 Pro) with many Visual Studio versions installed (VS 2008 Standard, VS 2010 Pro, VS 2012 Pro, VS 2013 Community Edition, VS 2015 Community Edition) and all are working fine.

I haven't the possibility to run restore system (at the time I installed W7 I had quite small a drive!)
so I'm on my way to install W10, hoping those guys at Microsoft hasn't make any step back towards W8 or, terribly to say, WVista... I'm at 28% and still alive!

I'll keep you informed ... and asked for (if it'll be the case)

    nothing so far
W10 installation aborted for some "disk partition reservation" issue
I suppose I'm on my way to buy a new PC! But I'll have some system specialist have a look at it before...

Not sure what hardware specs you're using, but when I setup a new workstation (I just setup three new Win10 laptops for the office), I generally wipe the pre-installed OS (deleting all partitions) in favor of a clean install to a drive with unallocated space (the OS install will make the partitions for you).

That said, when I upgraded my own workstation from Win8.1 to Win10, I first made a complete backup to .VHDx, before wiping the drives for clean install of the Win10 OS.

If you're having an issue where the OS cannot properly 'see' your drive(s), make sure you love loaded any supplemental drivers (for RAID Controller, etc?) as needed.

    Cheers

    thank you BB
I'm far from being that smart with PCs and OSs!
Anyhow the system specialist succeeded in installing W10, and then he run away.
After that I still failed to install VS2015 Community: it stopped with a fatal error just after beginning to install visual studio team services (which had been already "acquired"). And there it opened for the nth time the MS help popup asking me to give details and help them improve VS: I'll not report what I wrote them since I'm quite sure this forum rules must deal with dirty Language.
I'll search the web and try to find a solution during the forthcoming holidays. may the force be with me...

The system specialist didn't install, or leave your antivirus software running did they?

Also, unless you've been added as local admin, you may need elevated permissions to complete the install successfully.
