    Default Text Mask Issue

When I have a piece of Text with a text mask assigned to it I can no longer double click the text and have the text editor pop up.
Without the text mask the text works fine. with it on the editor will not come up only a group pop up? Anyone else have this issue with AutoCAD 2012

Are you using a 'mask',e.g Express Tools, or MTEXT with Background masking?

Using the "Textmask" from the command line. Text Mask Error.JPG the text gets masked and then it will not allow the test editor box to come up only the group box in the attached pic

In that case, my suggestion is to not do that anymore, and go with MTEXT with background masking set. That seems to be much more reliable and robust.

When you use the TEXTMASK, Autocad makes the text and the mask a group.
Use CTR+SHIFT+A to toggle groups on and off. After toggled off you should be able to double click to edit. Be mindful that your edited text can exceed the previous masking and it would need to be redone.
I also suggest to use background masking in MTEXT. But, sometimes users may be stuck using DTEXT due to whatever reason is peculiar to their situation.
