Convert Proposed Surface Boundary to Feature Line In Order to Grade to Existing Surface?

I have a proposed surface shown here:



To make that surface, I used plines with assigned elevations and feature lines, all assigned to PROPOSED surface as breaklines (i.e. I have not used any grading groups). Now, I'm trying to tie this edge of PROPOSED into the existing surface at a certain grade, but need that line green edge to be a feature line somehow in order to do the grading group tie-in. How do I create a feature line from the PROPOSED surface extents that has x, y, AND z data, so that I can grade from that feature line to the existing surface?

Extract the boundary from the surface. Then convert the extracted object to a feature line. Then grade to the desired surface.
