    Hey,

Hit the print screen button & paste it into your paint program.
I needed pictures to include with instructions & these were my steps:

    1. Hit the print screen button
    2. Open "paint" & press Ctrl & V
    3. Trim
    4. Save as a bitmap (a gif from paint will look bad)
    5. Close drawing
    6. Open drawing from explorer or folder - not in "paint", we have "IrfanView" (I have no idea what that is)
    7. Save as gif (less size than bitmap - better quality than from "paint")

We find PDFs are just the easiest, they can be opened by everyone (if they don't have the reader, they can download it) and PDFs aare easily converted to Images these days, providing you have the right tools, many are available that work great that are free. Such as OmniFormat.

I use wmfout all the time, find it to produce the best quality image to insert in Word, with very fine detail preserved. However, I have a big problem now that we've switched over to AutoCAD 2004. Seems that no matter what I do to order all the drawing objects, either Draworder, or copying the items I want to be on top (both of which used to work in AutoCAD 2000), wmfout prints them in no apparent order. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am tearing my hair out with this!

    Thanks...

    Try BetterWMF from www.furix.com.
I don't know that it fixes this problem but it fixes pretty much every other problem associated with using wmf.

Thanks, John, I had already looked into this, but when I checked out the options available, none appeared to deal with the drawing order of objects. We had to get the graphics out yesterday, so they went out as is, but I'll try downloading the 30-day test next time to see how it does. I appreciate the suggestion, though.

Has anyone just used the copy clip from Autocad then paste into paint? I have used this many times and don't seem to have any trouble.

The quality of detail cannot compare to what you get with wmfout, unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
