    Default Edit Attributes

    Hey

I have created a drawing template with attributes for my drawings.

In the past I have edited these attributes with a dialog box but after a recent update of the said template I now have to edit the attributes one by one on the drawing template.

Older versions can still be edited using the dialog box so I am not sure what I have changed. It's just annoying.

Does anyone know what I have done?

    Thanks.

Try syncing the attributes in the block with ATTSYNC. This needs to be done if attributes are added or deleted from a block.

So the "ATTEDIT" command does not bring up a dialogue box?

    I have a silly question..
Is it possible that someone exploded the block and you're editing block attribute definitions now??

Good thought, Ted, that happens our office way too often.

    Hey Ted

Sorry been caught up with work and haven't checked here for a while. I don't believe that is the case.

I have attached the file. If I haven't annoyed people by ignoring this post feel free to have a look.

    Hey Iceberg

Yes it does come up. But with a button on the side like a browse button that takes you back down to the drawing template.

You attributes are set up as Multiline, change them back to non-multiline attdefs, and you'll be good to go.

    Hey cadtag

I did a bit more digging along the multiline thing and it turns out that multiline is the default when you save an Inventor drawing template back into AutoCAD.

I just need the time to change it all as it isn't straight forward.

    Thanks for your help.
