    Exclamation Incorrect Live Imagery Position

I'm having an issue with GPS data accurately displaying on AutoCAD Map 3D live imagery. On several projects the data entered, whether imported from a Trimble unit or entered manually from coordinates, displays approximately 5 to 10 meters off the actually real world spot. The data is corrected and accurate before importing but when our field persons review the map it is slightly off.

Example: points that are plotted alongside a roadway show up anywhere from 5 to 10 meters onto the road.

I am using UTM 83 Zone 12 location. Not sure if my computer system is wonky or AutoCAD Map 3D needs to be calibrated???? Never heard of that.

    Any suggestions?

Presuming your'e talking about the Bing imagery when you say 'live', bear in mind that it's NOT all that accurate/ The systems (whether Apple, Google, or Microsoft) were initially designed as auto navigation aids -- and have never been advertised or certified as survey quality data. 5-10 meters is reasonable for Bing -- i've had multiple mile positional mismatches (to be fair, that was using 2014, and it's improved in later versions).

If you need accurate imagery, then you really need to obtain real georeferenced imagery, and mot try to schlep by on the cheap with the freebies. They are perfectly adewayte for county/parish level preliminary planning, but totally unreliable for anything that matters.

I'm using UTM83 Zone 12 N. Yes I am referring to the imagery that loads when you turn on Map Aerial (under Map Drafting tab)

I am referring to the imagery that loads when you turn on Map Aerial (under Map Drafting tab) but now that you've called me out on my cheapness....haha I will work with geo-referenced imagery instead. Would have been nice if it was more accurate!
