Post Loading families with nested elements

I am attempting to load families into Revit via macro. I suspect that if a nested family is already defined in the project, the script will crash. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any way around this? Is it possible to obtain the name of the nested families when loading the family, unload them, and then reload them back in? Thanks.

I would suggest finding those objects id's with the snooper and see what you find out about the object id and debug the objects just before inserting another.
Not sure if this link is for the snooper or not but it was written by Jeremy.
