    Default Object Animation

Hi I am unable to make my digger move from a to b.

I have created a scene and selected the digger from the selection tree and then created an animation set.
Captured the key frame moved the clock forward 5 seconds and then I am not given the option to capture the next keyframe as the all the icons in the animation dialogue is greyed out?

It's a bit hard to tell from the jpg if you have this correct, but you have to have Animation Set 1 selected, not just the object in the selection tree.

Hi I am running version 2017.

Yes the Animation Set 1 is selected, not just the object in the selection tree.

I have been at this now for ages and wasted so much time!

My object animations will run some times but will not run other times. I have deleted and appended the objects back in and this works sometimes!

I my objects were Skech up files so I brought in some revit files and still the same thing. There is no logic to it unless I am missing something.

I understand that sometimes with navisworks there isn't logic but this can be worked around sometimes. I don't see how I can work around this.

If I put time into creating an animation for one of the objects not to move for some unknown reason I can't even make a correction ie. delete object bring it back in only for it not to work at all, where as this may have worked before. No logic.

I have been at this now for weeks and weeks I have searched forums and the web but nothing. I am upto date with the other aspects of navisworks but I can't get this part!

I am doing a Msc. BIM Management and should be writing my thesis but I need to work this out as simulations and animations are integral to navisworks.

Also I know of this forum and AUGI but as I have mentioned there isn't much feedback so I dont know how to resolve this, it has me baffled.

Any help I would gladly pay for so if there is any means of paying for a solution to this, grinds etc.

    Regards,
    Totally frustrated Damien

Yes this forum's Navisworks page is not as well visited as it used to be. There is more traffic on the Autodesk forum for Navisworks.

I'm happy to assist but what you are describing is going to be hard to troubleshoot with back and forth text. Can you do up a sample nwf that experiences the problems you describe and I'll see if I can see if I can re-create them?

One left field question - Do you use NW on different computer set-ups and do any of these involve 4K or UHD monitors?

    Regards

    Hi,

Thankyou for taking the time. I first had to find out my monitor is a DVI-D monitor. I also needed to assure myself of the file types as I thought this may be an issue.

I have uploaded the nwf. file as requested and eagerly await your reply. Thankyou again for taking the time.

    Regards

Sorry, I can't do much with this nwf as it does not have the T5MP_xxxx.nwd, ragaca.nwc,кран+20.nwc files that are referenced.

I can however see that you have added two animation keyframes correctly, 30 seconds apart not 5, and there is a rotation change between the two.

If you can't see the second keyframe try shrinking the timeline down. Also try adding a scene folder first, and the scenes and animation sets under this. I've also found multiple NW animations behave better if you break up the various animations into groups using folders.

One other tip, most times right clicking on the keyframe to edit it can provide more control than the item tools.
