Default Coordinate Geometry Editor - Input

Summary: The ability to change the and/or calculate distances inside of the Coordinate Geometry Editor

Description: There are several different types of distances used in surveying, feet, meter, perches, chains and links, etc. The ability to change the input data into the editor based on the distance type and to have it automatically do calculations to a preset distance.

For example, reading a deed description that is in perches, Select in the Editor that the input is in perches and want to have it converted to feet. Then type in the distance value for perches, example 1, and have the editor calculate that input value and apply it to the distance in feet as 16.5.

Not only will this make the editor more flexible, but it will reduce additional steps (such as scaling)

Not just for Cogo either. AutoCAD _should_ be able to use any unit of measure listed in acad.unt and automatically use the correct conversion to the current drawing setting.

OMG, really. In Texas we use varas (1 vara = 33.33 in. = 2.7775'). We put in the metes and bounds using the vara calls then scale it.(*2.7775) This gets rid of round off error. If the parcel does not close with the initial calls then we know it's the document. Unlike a perch/rod and chains (Gunther) which are closer to a whole number (16.5' and 66'), meters and varas carry an error regarding significant figures (3.2808333 and 2.7775). It's only one more step to scale and warrants a better result.
