Default SSM-insert of callout block causes crash

In one of my SSM project files, whenever I attempt to insert a callout block for a named view from the SSM, Autocad crashes immediately. If I insert the same callout block using the "insert block" command, no crash occurs, but I have to assign values to the attributes. This is only occurring in this one SSM project file. I've run Audit on all of the files in the set, and purged everything not used. Anyone know what is going on?

Also found that sometimes the block insertion will proceed through setting the scale of the block and picking a location for insert, but nothing appears in the drawing. Selecting with a window around the attempted point of insertion doesn't find anything, but the block is in the drawing because when I list items that cannot be purged it is in the list.

dunno about the first issue, but for the latter, use the FILTER command and select by Block Name to find it

I have seen the first issue with SSM.

Your guess is as good as mine. I suggest opening a support ticket with Autodesk, especially since it's repeatable on demand.

thanks for your response RK. Unfortunately since our firm has opted out of the Autodesk subscription business model, we no longer qualify for support from them. So, I depend on the community. This has been the first problem in years that I have had difficulty solving.

in that case, delete the dst, and create a new one from scratch

    ahh, the start over solution!
I guess sometimes that's the only way out.

Decided not to start over on this project, and just manually enter the callout info. But I was having the same problem with another project that wasn't very far along, so I deleted all the sheets, template, and .dst file. I wblocked out the project drawings, ran audit several times, and purged everything that wasn't being used, and ran audit again.

Then I started over and created a new Sheet Set using the example template I've been using without problems for several years. I created several new sheets, including a detail sheet. Then created a new named view in my details drawing, and dragged the view from the SSM onto the detail sheet. An immediate crash occurred ("fatal error: unhanded access violation...").

Don't know what else to do. Could there be a corruption in my SSM template?
