Exclamation Rotated Sections won't show "Cut" objects?

Hello there, I did a search and didn't find anything on this and I'm hoping someone can verify this and possibly offer a solution.

I have a framing elevation and I want to show a horizontal section (basically a detail plan view of an area, but created with a rotated section cut)..

The problem is, the view will not show items that pass through the section marker.
It's acting like an elevation marker, but I want to see the columns that are "Cut" (pass through section marker).

I have verified all visibility settings, work sets, filters everything.
I did notice if I change the detail level to "course" I do see the columns.
I also notice if I simply move the marker "above" the items, I can see them, so I suspect it's something to do with the section marker behavior.

(see screen shot, thanks in advance!)

Do you have the "Show precut at height" check box checked in column family?

If you mean "Show family pre-cut in plan views" yes that was checked.
Once I un-checked it and reloaded it, the columns that are passing through the section marker ARE showing up!

Was that the right thing to do? (because it solved my problem)

    Thanks

Yep. That's the right thing to do in my mind. They added that to Structural column Families back in like 2012 I think. The idea being if you want to show your columns as cut at a specific height above the view reference level you could since a lot of structural drawing are cut like 6" above the top of the column at say the roof level.
Personally I think it was a dumb choice and I still don't see why it's there. But yes, that's the thing you want to uncheck when columns that pass thru the cut plane don't show as cut.
Glad I could be of assistance.
