    Default Movement of a cable

    Dear members,
I am trying to execute the animation of the movement of a cable that is dragged by a moving pulley. As you can see in the attached image, the cable has a fixed end and it is the pulley that extends the cable.
The movement of the pulley is composed of translation and rotation, very easy to animate, but my problem is that I don´t know how to solve the movement of the cable that have to follows to the pulley. My program is the 3DS Max 2017.
Could anyone help me with this? Many thanks in advance.

Default Re: Movement of a cable

    Muchas gracias

Well, I have solved the problem of the animation on the pulley "A", which was the object of my query. In case someone is interested, this is my procedure:
    1) With a spline I have created the route that the cable should follow
    2) I have created a tall, thin cylinder that simulates a piece of cable.
    3) With the modifier "PathDeform (WSM)" I have placed the cylinder in the path.
    4) I place the pulley on the curve of the route.
    5) I execute the animation moving the pulley and the route equally. In the same animation I rotated the pulley the corresponding angle to the walk of the cable.
    6) Finally, I have hidden the route so that only the cable and the pulley can be seen.
If anyone wants more details, here I am at your entire disposal
    Thank you very much
