Default phases in the appearance profiler

without creating a search set for each system per phase whats the best way to halftone a search set to identify an existing phase?

for instance, all my cold water piping is blue. my search set is set up for system type name = cold water. without creating a new search set where it has an "and" condition i want to use my search set for existing with no color assigned to it be 50% transparent.

Default Re: phases in the appearance profiler

What I do, is when I'm exporting out from Revit to .nwc, I separate the existing phase from the new construction phase. I'll have two separate Arch models. One that's labeled "exist". When I bring them both into Navisworks, I can easily differentiate between the two phases and color the models accordingly. I also export the MEP as separate models as well.

Additionally, I use muted color for the existing and try to not to use transparency as much as possible unless needed. Transparency tends to bog down the model. I also turn off ALL glass as well since it's translucent.
