Default Limit users to only see released dwfs in the vault thin client

We want to limit our purchasing and operations people to only see the released dwf file (not the CAD files) in the Vault thin client. I did a custom API based viewer a few years ago to do this. However I am hoping Vault has progressed enough I can set some kind of permission to only see the visualization files in the Vault with those limited users go into the Vault.

We already limit them to only see the released version, however, we do not want them seeing the CAD files at all. More so to reduce confusion for the end user, not to keep things from them.

    Hi,
in my opinion it is not possilble to limite the use only to see the dwf files. the only think you can do is to say that only released files are visible but this is for the cad and visualization files. What we need in vault to do this is a security state on file extensions. so, what can you do.
Create a dwf file for the cad files an move ot to a seperate folder. Or create a pdf file automaticly by transition to release and move it to a seperate folder. And on this folder you can give access to the sales people.

I know this is a old thread but we solved this issue At Central Arizona Project by creating separate lifecycles for our published DWFx files. We then added the DWFx files to the ECO instead of the drawings. By doing this we can not only limit who can see these files when released but it also eliminates anyone without the correct credentials to see the drawing files.
