Huge Plot Files!!!

Can someone please explain to me why AutoCAD 2005 creates such huge plot files? I can plot a drawing in AutoCAD 2002 and get a plot file 500k to 700k in size. I plot that same drawing in AutoCAD 2005 and I end up with a plot file over 6mb. What is going on here? AutoCAD 2005 does an incredible job at saving files to a smaller size, but a lousy job at plotting. I would gladly trade larger drawing sizes for smaller plot sizes and faster plotting. I thought the name of the game was production. Not hurry up and wait.

Thanks for your input Mike. If I hadn't seen it for myself, I wouldn't have believed it. We have a titleblock with two small logos made out of solid hatch. When I plotted without the titleblock, my plot file was 300k. When I plotted with the titleblock, my plot file was over 6mb. Thank goodness for xreference. All I have to change is one file. Thanks again for your help.
