Hi,

We're soon going to market for a new workstation. We were previously for an i7-8700k. This time, the 'equivalent' appears to be the i9-9900k (multi-core + hyper-thread).

However, I've been trying to understand how far does revit uses hyper-threading. From some post and benchmarks, it appears it doesn' and actually slows revit. In which case, the i7 would be a preferable choice.

So, if you're on to a new machine, would you go for an i9-9900k or i7-9700k?
I understand some may say an i9-9900k with disabled hyper-threading given the faster clock. But I don't think it justifies the price difference.

Other softwares we use is enscape and lumion. V-ray is being considered.

Thanks!
