Default easy label a spiral if it's a pline?

I've been getting progress drawings from another consultant. I don't know what CAD they're using. The alignments are coming to me as lines and curves with polylines for the spirals. I can annotate the lines and curves quickly and easily. Is there a quick and easy way to label the plines with its length?

Are we talking plines or splines. You can label a pline with the label dialog easily however be careful depending on accuracy desired the length may not be correct. A pline cannot represent a spiral and be listed with any great precision

    Plines, not splines.

    Hi
This a new one to me I have heard of a pline used for a spiral except has been offset from centerline spiral which makes a pline of numerous short line segments. Is this not the case? I always thought plines were limited to line segments and simple curves that are connected into one object is this not the case?

I received this from a source outside our offices. I suspect they used Microstation and somehow exported it to a DWG.

That the plines are the spirals isn't as important to me. I'm looking for a way to label these plines with thier lengths.

    Hi
I wished I could help if it's not a spiral there is no way that I know of to correctly label it. You can label a spiral that is part of an alignment in the alignment label dialog. Can you ask the source for the spiral data.

They have the geometric data on their drawing, but in a relatively small text that's unusable at a reasonable scale. For our purposes, we're mostly interested in the spiral lengths - in this case, the length of the pline.

I would copy their text to one of my layers and scale the text up to what I needed, or ask for and alignment landxml import alignment label the spiral.
