    Default Hide and subtraction weirdness

Only learnt about hiding objects recently. It sure makes drawing and editing easier.
    But.....
I found a problem with it.
In my drawing, I had a part hidden when I saved it and shut down the computer. The next day that part was gone and not retrievable.
    What happened there ?

    Another thing....
I had drawn a hinge with 3 separate sections that sit touching each other. When I subtracted cylinders to create the screw holes, the 3 hinge parts joined themselves together. Why did it do that ?

I'm not certain an object retains its hidden state when closing - I believe they do not. When you reopened did you try to unhide?

The subtraction of the cylinder from multiple solids is common. I've always taken the approach to copy in place and perform multiple subtracts. You may be able to separate the joined hinge (SOLIDEDIT > BODY > Separate Solids) or perform a slice. It may be the separate may not work if the hinge parts were touching.

Yes I did, well sort of. The command in the right click menu is "end object isolation".
I just found and tried "unhide" (didn't know that was a command) but that didn't work either.

I went ahead and made some more modifications to the drawing, and used hide objects again.
When it was finished, I clicked end object isolation and the parts returned as normal....but so did the missing part !
    How strange

I'm glad the part is back, although it wasn't important and could do without it because it's just a dummy to line up other items, I just don't understand why it seemed to be erased.
