Default Sheet set prompting to chose template FILE when creating new sheet.

    Hiya gang,

Hope this is the correct forum for this, please feel free to move if it's not.

    Simple question (I think).

    • I have a sheet set with a sheet creation template defined.
    • This template has several layouts (Arch D, Arch E, etc)
    • "Prompt for template" is set to yes.

When I create a new sheet I am prompted to select the template file every time and I don't remember this being the case, I thought it "remembered" the file and let you choose from the layouts in that file.

Am I nuts? Did it always work this way or am I missing something?

    Thanks as always.

What happens when you change 'Prompt for template' to No?

    Hello Black Box!

If I do that, it behaves exactly as I expect.

AutoCAD "remembers" both the file and the layout and never prompts me for anything and simply creates a new sheet using the Layout defined in the "Select a layout as sheet template" dialog box.

Ha! Well the issue is the client wants to be able to select from the several layouts in that file, but browsing to the file itself every time you make a sheet is a drag.

    A-team forever!

Isn't that what sub-sets are for?

I get what the client wants, but that's not currently possible (without sub-sets that have a Layout specified + no prompt for DWT), AFAIK.
