Default how to flip part of family

    Hi all,

I have created a cabinet with an option of having a right hand swing and left hand swing(flip option). My manager asked me to add our company logo to it but when I add that and import the family in project after mirroring a family to get right hand swing or the other one, the logo mirror too and it's not readable anymore! Is anyone have an idea how to mirror just part of a family or is there anyway I can put our logo and not getting it mirror!

Is there anyway I can make put watermark on the family?

    Thank you

There isn't a practical way to reconcile that issue with mirroring. You can build the family with two logos for a right and left configuration and use a yes/no parameter to turn on the correct one for each. However that assumes users do not mirror the family. If a product has right and left product codes and they are ordered specifically for orientation then you'll find mirrored families that were "right" to begin with but now look like they are "left" actually still carry "right" data like product model number etc.

Last...adding logos to families is generally frowned upon. I understand the impulse to do so but most of the views in a set of documents are rarely at a resolution that will display the logo well. Also if you don't provide a way to turn it off (like Detail Level) you'll find that people will likely edit the family to remove it. From a Revit perspective it is too much detail and Autodesk recommends not doing for performance sake. Practically speaking many projects can't specify a singular product rather require "or equal" and seeing logos might not be permissible as such.

This is what I did with mirroring the logo and using yes/no parameters.
