Renaming many layers

Hi, I am looking for a lisp to rename over 500 layers to add an extension to them. Rename is too slow for this.

How is Rename too slow? I just renamed 500+ layers in about 5 seconds.
That means I added the same prefix to all of them.

Maybe the OP doesn't know about using wildcards in the RENAME dialog?

If they wanted to rename all of them to different extensions the Layer Standards would be the correct tool.

As they haven't replied we'll probably never know what they wanted to do.
