Default Call-outs of Drafting Views - empty

    Hi
I feel I must be making a very basic mistake. I want to make a call-out of an ordinary drafting view - but the resulting call-out is completely empty. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks

Callouts only show the 3D elements in the source view, not the 2D annotation, i.e., the drafted elements. Instead, duplicate the view with detailing; crop, rescale, and edit the new view as needed; and in the source view create a callout linked to the new view by having "Reference other view" checked on the Ribbon.
