Default UCS icon looks different from DWG to DWG

I've noticed my UCS icon looks different from drawing to drawing and am curious why. It doesn't affect my drawing, but it bugs me that they look different. Is there a reason for this difference? Snapshots attached.

The "pin" is a geographic marker. You can hide it by setting GEOMARKERVISBILITY = 0

The 3D UCS icon is probably because you are in a visual style other than 2D Wireframe. There are settings you can control to set how it's displayed.
