    Default Compatible and design standard

Can anybody tell what are the compatible standard and design standard in spec? What do I have to put there? I want to change existing spec for pipes and also change the standards, but can I put standard for pipe dimension as compatible standard and standard for technical delivery as design standard? Or it is up to me what I put there and does not make sense?

    Thank you all in advance

Default Re: Compatible and design standard

Since no-one has attempted, I will give it a try.
Compatible is typically used for ANSI/ASME for imperial. That's what I use it for. Design would be used for items that have a design standard/company standard to build the particular configuration of the part. Design Standard must not be required for functionality of the program because none of the specs supplied with the program have data in that field. I think it just gives you a way to sort material in bills and reports. I've never used the Design Standard fields.

On a valve, a design standard would be: Reduced Port, Short Pattern, Swing, Full Bore, Rotary, spring load on relief valve, etc.
On a pipe part a design standard would be: Close or Long (for nipples), LR or SR for elbows, spec for ring joint, etc.
