Default DB - Am I using constraints incorrectly (or how to do this right)?

Hi and apologies in advance if posting in the wrong place.

I'm attempting a simple stretchy block of a triangle but the parallel constraints that I put in order to keep two text fields aligned with the hypotenuse collide or work very poorly with stretch action.
On the face of it it seems to be a very simple matter but I can't make it work right.

How should I use the constraints in order to both have the triangle stretch normally on the X/Y axis and still have the text fields maintain their relative position parallel to the hypotenuse?
