Default Forcing tangency from arc to line in the pline command

I am drawing a center line in the middle of an existing road based on a topo. Using the pline (polyline) command I can draw a straight line. Then use the Arc command to draw an arc. That arc is tangent to the straight line. However when I try to draw another straight line from the arc I just drew (using the Line command), it is NOT tangent to the arc I just drew. How do I force tangency for these line segments?

You entered L to switch from arc to line, enter L again for length and enter the tangent length.

I'd create the tangents first and use the fillet command to create the arcs afterwards though.

    Thanks Tom.
This works and you don't have to type in a distance you can click a length...and this is better for my case.
    Very good.
By the way, what are the letters, P.S.M. after your name signify?

    Just curious.

No need for Polyline during layout (just when creating the Alignment), as CURVEFROMENDOFOBJECT and LINEFROMENDOFOBJECT Commands are your friends.
