Default Unable to real-time pan via mouse wheel press

I'm sure there's a setting I screwed up somehow. My mouse wheel switch has suddenly stopped calling a real-time pan. Now, when I press it, a little magnifying glass with a "+" sign comes up. You don't realize how much you use something until it goes away...

    Somebody he'p me...

Yes, it is... First thing I checked...

I have also checked the CUI mouse settings... They are the same as my backup workstation, which does NOT exhibit the problem.

Since you have a backup workstation, can you use the mouse from that one to check if you have a bad mouse?

Yes... It's the same model mouse, and it does the same thing when used on my primary box. The wheel switch works, but it just invokes a different thing than it used to.

The function now working from the wheel button (Button 3) appears to be an anchored zoom, where a magnifying glass appears upon clicking the wheel, and zooming in and out occurs from the wheel relative to that point, with a second click on the wheel exiting the function. Moving the cursor with the wheel button held down results in no change to display zoom or pan. The CUI setting for the Button #3 remains at "Snap Menu". Manual changing of that CUI setting to "Pan" and the subsequent change to the associated macro appears to have no effect either way on the problem. I have also tried resetting the mouse driver within Windows to the factory defaults with the Logitech SetPoint software, to no avail.

I am now officially at my wit's end...

Just watched the video. My "Windows Compatibility Mode" shows unchecked, so I guess it's something else. Bummer...

Just had a look. A note on the referenced page reads "Applies to Microsoft Accessories". Further delving from that page reveals a list of mice supported by Microsoft Mouse & Keyboard Center. They are all Microsoft-branded mice. My mouse is a Logitech M705. I have tried running Logitech's SetPoint for my mouse, and it doesn't seem to change anything. I will try to get through to their tech support tomorrow, as I may not be doing it right.

Here's a Catalyst piece describing setting up for AutoCAD indicating what shows in Control Panel Mouse Properties for some Logitech mice

    https://www.cadalyst.com/hardware/re...-buttons-13866

I'd A/B compare these settings on your two boxen for clues on top of the application CUI settings.

Beyond that what changed between having it working and having it not working - and when? A System Restore to just before is then the nuclear option.

    hth,
